Starting a Home Based Business

Hi, and welcome to my website.  My name is Nick D. and not long ago I decided that it was time for me to start a home based business.   In my past, I have worked for large Fortune 500 companies.  What I found working for those large companies, is that no matter how well I was doing, or how much money I was making I really was not in control of my future, and that at any time if the company made a certain decision it would impact me and my family greatly.  My primary position has always been in sales and marketing and each year quota's would go up, or territories would change and management would make plans that impacted my ability to make money and secure my family's financial future.    For me, the first time I really began thinking about starting a home based business in my spare time was during the accounting scandals of the 1990's, where companies like Enron were found guilty of manipulating their books, and defrauding investors and employees.  It struck a nerve that here were employees doing all the right things and they were betrayed by their management and lost most and in some cases all of their retirement money.

Today, as I see gas prices rise to $4.00/gallon, and the cost of everything going up, I became deeply concerned that unless I took immediate action and control over my financial wealth that I was realling gambling with my future.  I took action because I believe that the way to financial independence and to make more money, is to work for yourself. 

I think everyone would like to work for themself, but how do you really get started?  There are really a couple of options: 

1)  Quit your full time job, make a heavy investment in either a franchise or dealership and work 20 hours a day trying to make sure that works.

2)  Start a home based business in your spare time, and grow that business to the point where you can make enough money to quit your regular job.

Seems like a no-brainer to me, and that's what I am doing.

The goal of this site is to be a resource for you on starting and building your online home business.  It is for people like stay at home moms business opportunity, retired people looking for a part time home based business, ordinary people looking for a good way to make cash in their spare time.  I will continually add content and as I come up with ideas will include them.  As my business has grown, I have developed a network of other extremely successful online business entrepenuers who make thousands of dollars each week in their business.  I will also share some of their thoughts and ideas as I come across them, and hopefully these strategies will serve as a blueprint for your success.
